This American Elm (1813 – 2024)

writing

“This American Elm (1813-2024)” is a eulogy to a ~211 year old American Elm tree that toppled during Hurricane Helene. It appeared as part of the Rooted: Arboreal Nonfiction substack, a collective home for tree stories, and a place where we can celebrate the ways our lives are framed, overlapped, and otherwise entangled with the arboreal.
